Zoom G5

Postby pauldb38 » Wed Jul 11, 2018 2:40 pm

Hi, guys, I have a Zoom G5 going into a USB audio interface, i was told my G3X hall and colins patches would work on the g5, But i'm finding it all sounds very Bassy even describe as muddy. Do you have to set the Eq settings in the G5 and if so what are the best settings? I'm trying to set this up to work with my DAW (reaper) but tried a few different packages like studio one etc. The idea is to try and record myself as a way of self improvement etc.

Paul, are you confusing "Hall and Collins" with Ross Hall and EFTP patches for Zoom G3 and Zoom G5.

Charlie Hall and his Hall and Collins unit is not connected in any way with the patches provided
by Ross Hall for the Zoom G3 or G5.

To the best of my knowledge the patches provided by Ross Hall for the Zoom G3 are not transferable
to the Zoom G5. They are purchased as a separate entity.

Hope this helps, Cheers, Alan.

I was told theres no difference in the G3 and G5 patches and should work , my G3 is in repair at the moment so its not in use and has been factory reset so doesn't contain the patches I purchased , I put them on the G5 as a temporary solution so I could still practice while my g3 is repaired.

My question was really aimed at the G5 Eq setting for the shads tone rather than the actual g3 patches.

I suppose logic dictates that the G3 patches won't work on the G5 otherwise
Ross Hall would have no need to market them separately.

I have a G3X with Ross Hall's patches but never felt the need for a G5.

Ross Hall would be your man to ask. His contact details are on the website
and on the documents he sent you when you bought the patches in the first place.

Good luck with your repair.

Cheers, Alan.
