Caline P-24 10 band EQ Graphic Equalizer

Postby Strummer » Thu Jan 21, 2016 1:23 pm

Gentlemen,

I have just bought one of these and have just received it, so not tried yet. I am informed they are very good, so I will see. I will try it with a Strat and my AC30 CC2, plus my Alesis Quadraverb GT. However, WHERE in the line of thinking do I plug the EQ into? ASt the moment my Alesis goes straight into the amp and a lead runs from Alesis into my Strat.

Does anyone know please, you quick response would be heartily appreciated as i intend to try it tonight.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Arthur
I put the Caline last in the chain its output then direct into amp.
Depending on your amp you should get some useful adjustment to suit your
own taste in sound mix.

Agree with Mike, last in the chain before amp.

Why would you not plug the unit into the amp effects loop (assuming the amp has one)?

Surely, if you plug directly into the amp input, you effectively have increased the input load on the amp, as most effects are active with their own pre-amp, whereas most guitars are passive?

Apart from that, I have been a fan of graphic EQ units for years, since I had an amp with one built in- probably the most useful device for a accessing a wide tone range for any guitar.

Hi All

Had a play at the weekend, but still can't seem to get the "depth". Could it be the amp settings? have you any suggestions please? (Only nice ones acceptable, Lol!)

Thank you

Arthur,

Have a look at this: http://charliehall.proboards.com/thread ... d-settings

I find those settings very good in non-Vox amps - Fender and Orange, and they certainly work in the recording chain.
