Hello Dave, I do not post very often but feel compelled to on this subject. I have listened to your two tracks and if I could achieve that sound regardless of what pickups are used I would be over the moon. I have gained a lot of information and knowledge re Shadows sounds via your posts e.g. AC Tone settings, Zoom G3 patches and more. Keep up the good work. Take care.

Thanks Geoff, it's good to know that people gain something from my experiments and recordings. :)

That's absolutely correct, but there has never really been a suggestion that the historical enquiries about guitars, amplifiers, effects units, drums, other instruments, the dance steps, stage suits, record labels, matrix numbers, re-releases, etc, etc, are necessarily about playing.

Lots of non-players are interested in all of those subjects, just as is the case with lots of other artists with big fan followings over the years. I was certainly interested in every aspect of The Shadows, their instruments, their recordings and their career in general, from the age of 10 onward. It was another three or four years before I was able to get my hands on a guitar (and that really only happened by accident).

I agree fully with you, Jim.

Hi Terry,

I just don't wanted to stir things up regarding the "flamed" discussion that was going on in this tread....
But maybe this music file can/could bring back, a healthy exchange of opinions back and forth and common sense will return instead of using large font/caps (which is regarded as shouting on the web for the last 20 years).
So my apologies for maybe using the wrong saying, because your language isn't my native one
So to go back on topic, so what's your opinion on the track/playing and what's used in your opinion?

Hi Andy,

It's just a guy with a guitar,echo,amp,mike and a recorder....
Of course I can spill the beans with, who's playing and what was used, but some people like to hear with their eyes when the reed what's used...
So to prevent prepossessed/biased opinions....let me say it's easier to write what wasn't used because this gang can have excess to all the equipment you can imagine....
So No Hank was involved
No Abbey Road
No Drum Meazzi

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the nice words.
I'm sure the people involved will appreciated your comment, any view on the equipment?

Cheers Rob
