Standing or sitting.

Postby eugene » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:44 am

Hi there !

I was thinking about it is far more difficult to play the guitar with standing than sitting.

Will you agree that point ?

Many copies of the shadows' on youtube are sitting play.

Gentlemen, Stand up and play that !

I couldn't play "Foot Tapper" with stepping forever :o

So sorry for my poor English.

Sincereley yours.

Hi Yugi,

no need to keep apologising for your English - it is far better than our Japanese!

Yes, it is more difficult to play standing but more comfortable to play sitting down if you are as old as I am!

Kind regards,

Terry

I find that it depends on what I'm playing dictates whether I sit or stand. If I'm playing something melodic or jazz orientated I find that sitting helps me manage to stretch to the awkward chords I do plus the hybrid picking also.
If I am playing something like blues for instance, standing is much better for running up and down the fingerboard for me.
The old bones let me stand so far but who knows for how long eh???
