Hi all
Here is a set of Srat pickups at the opposite end of the price range. Seymore Duncan Zepher Silver Strat set. £620.42p plus P&P
I bet they dont sound 25X better than the Ironstone set.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Seymour-D ... 0404754437

Hi Dave
I could not agree more. But I bet someone, somewhere will buy a set just to say, The pickups cost £620.42p and my Strat sounds a lot better.
Regards Geoff.

Hi,just catching up on this thread. I have listened to the demo of the Ironstone pickups and I agree that the Ironstones are good and represent good value for money.I will buy a set of them myself, but re the point of spending £600 on pickups. I think if someone wants to spend £600 on pickups and has the money to do so, I dont see why not.If you bought a Squire at £100 I can see it being over the top by putting these pickups in it, but say on a custom shop model why not, if they give you the sound your looking for.You could say why spend £2000 or more on echo units when you can get ones for less. Is it not because it gives us the sound we want to hear. Can the same not apply to pickups.Personally I wouldnt buy them at that price either even if I could afford it, but I know some who would and if its makes them happy why not.Its their money RegardsTony.

I've been a Seymour Duncan fan for many years and have used their pickups on a few of my guitars with great success I have to say.
However, I would never pay that price for them. I pay around 50 quid a pickup and they sound great at that price. I dont think paying over £600 a set could possibly make them sound that much better than mine do.
Sounds like rip-off to me
I've been looking around for a Squier Tele recently, if I find what I'm looking for, I might try these Ironstone chappies on it.
Thanks for posting that info 8-)
Hugh.
