Definately NOT, John (Hankies) asked me if i had read the write up in Guitarist mag, so i thought i would get views off the site. Any views on the Brigadier or El Capistan pedals Dave.

I haven't yet seen any of these to try but if and when I do, I will investigate. 8-)

It appears to be a quality unit and some of the sound samples sound very good, but from what I can tell it only gives a single head repeat delay with no multi-head facility.

The less expensive 'El Capistan' model does indeed have a multi head feature - there are three heads as there are on the Space Echo/Copicat.
The 'Timeline' is more expensive so one would expect more features but until I see one in the flesh it will remain a mystery.
Given the wonderful time I'm having using the Macbook/Mainstage for my amp & echo sounds in the home along with the Vox Tonelab or the ESE Echomatic for live gigs, I don't imagine I'll be rushing around looking for anything else any time soon. For me all of the latest stuff that is on offer / going to be on offer has missed the boat - I'm more than delighted with what we have. 8-)

The Timeline does possess multi tap features check out the Stymon site for info. I believe though that the multitaps are fixed and unlikely to do the head timings we want but what a great unit as is the El Capistan which only has two heads for multi tap. I have seen groups talking and comparing to real tape units and they are very well regarded.

I believe Charlie Hall is going down a similar route with the new Hall Collins job which may well feature tape artifacts etc and the the right EQ etc.

These are great examples of DSP programming
