I'm the lonely one

Postby eugene » Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:08 pm

Hi ! There.

On "I'm the lonely one" MONO Version, the single in Japan.
Hank did not bend the very first note of Double Ⅵ.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDy5MaqQ ... re=related

About STEREO version Hank bend it.
though Cliff Richard Song Database "says
"The mono and stereo recordings are the same take and edit, but different mixes.

Anyone know what the truth is ?

And if you have a MONO version , would you check it up, please.

So sorry about my poor English.

Sincerly yours.

Interesting Eugene

There are many experts here who may be able to throw more light on it. All I can suggest is that the Shadows were getting more and more into double-tracking by this time and there may be more than one Fender VI track on there? If so, a different mix is all that would be needed to alter the character of some of the notes. Listening all the way through to both mono and stereo version though, it sounds to me like the same track.

Maybe others can pitch in with better theories or even, let's hope, the facts!

Iain,

Aren't we talking about a BURNS Double six (VI) here as opposed to a Fender VI six string bass?

Regards ;)

It was a Burns Double Six - and I do it on mine all the time in that very number without a problem, so I'm sure that Hank was capable of doing the same. 8-)
