Hi Guys/Gals

Can anyone tell me the correct settings for the Amp for Shads tunes please? I am trying two Fenders, 1 x Japanese HBM Signature and 1 x Custom Shop USA fitted with 50's Noiseless Pups.

Reason I ask is I thought I had Theme for Young Lovers nailed, then I heard a guy on YouTube and he had the exact HBM Sound that made me realize I do not have. I was going through an Alesis Quadraverb GT fitted with EFTP patches.

I did not seem to get that deep mellow sound that HBM had. This guy had it. It is very annoying.

Any help would be most gratefully received.

Hi Arthur , if your amp has the Wharfdale speaker fitted rather than a Celestion this could cause it to
be a bit glassy, wooly sounding.
I know as I had a AC15 CC1 with same problem despite all points tried on the controls re Shadows Sounds.
My Yamaha THR 10 micro amp does a very good reproduction of That Sound mid pickup a la My Resistance is Low,
Golden Street etc and inputs B/Ts to blend in on playback. Wins by a mile over the above CC1

Hi Mike, I had a look into the back and you are right, it is a Wharfdale, Grrrrrrrr!

I did consider a possible Celestion upgrade to bring the CC1 up to x standard , but with only the one
top boost channel on this model (the newer c1 has normal and top) I wasnt sure if the speaker upgrade cost
could be justified, especially if the amp itself had other shortfalls that still would not produce significant
warmth and depth required.
Maybe someone else who is reading this might have experience of this issue?

I just watched that and i want to say, many, many thanks for putting that up for me to see.

I will now go see how much it costs and get things going.

I presume the Wharfdale speaker will be OK?

There is a BOSS GE10 graphic equalizer (refurbished) currently on sale on Ebay and from U.S.A seller.

For info the MXR 10 band EQ covers the same frequencies as this old graphic pedal does ...
