My Converted eTap2HW by Ecca

Postby roger bayliss » Sat Aug 30, 2014 7:20 pm

Just thought I would mention that Ecca converted my original eTap2HW (Non Valve) and updated it with Automation and gave it a new look.

The Automation is very good with a clear display that is very easy to read and great if on stage or dark stages etc.

I like the manual mode as much as the programmed patches and overall it has made the unit better.

Ecca is your man for automation if you have an older non automation unit and want a conversion. Great job very pleased with the result.

He did my conversion as well, although mines was the valve unit, I love it. The ability to store the patches that you use most often, is also a great bonus.

Yes I agree the memory storage is great and you get right back to your settings without fiddling around to much ... easy to set up and use and to get the right echo each time you select it... takes away the guesswork.

Glad you guys are finding the Automation useful. You may be interested in checking out my Echotapper blog where you can download the latest version of the automation firmware code (the current version number is shown on the LCD when the unit is switched on), plus I have a separate program called the 'Librarian' which allows you to edit patches, rearrange their order and back them up them safely on your computer. At the moment it's been tested and works on Windows XP and Windows 7 (so presumably it's ok on Vista too and, hopefully Windows 8).

To update the firmware or use the Librarian, you'll need to connect the Arduino inside your Eccamatic to the computer via a USB 'A' to USB 'B' lead.

Here's the link to my blog -everything is free :)

God bless you Phil, it wouldn't be possible without you.
What changes have you made to the firmware and what is the latest version ?

I do have a Mac version of the Librarian but so far no one has tested it Dave. I'll be glad to send it you and cross my fingers that it works
