Yeah. Sadly, since the BBC moved much of its broadcast facilities up to 'Media City' in Salford, for highly dubious reasons, the highly-paid presenters who live in London present them with something of a quandary. The solution, certainly in the case of Gary Lineker is to get a taxi to take him from his palatial home in (probably) Kensington, up to Manchester to present Match of the Day and then drive him back home! I would be interested to know how much this totally senseless expenditure amounts to per annum. The BBC has no right to complain about anything, in my opinion. And here's a thought, all those disgruntled at the way the BBC misappropriates their licence fee, why not write to them and ask for the money back that you paid them during the period they employed Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall. Now THAT was money badly spent!
I used to have the utmost respect for the BBC. I don't now. They have even allowed Doctor Who to be ruined by Steven Moffat.
I shall be interested in seeing how the BBC play this, but unless they consider themselves less accountable than the police, then surely they must realise that they WERE in the wrong and just pay up. Let's say it's a million or two pounds... simple... reduce the wages of a couple of MOTD presenters or tell Gary Lineker to pay his own taxi fair!!!
Have a nice day!
