Following the sad death of Victoria Wood, this photo was in one of the papers. I imagine this must have been taken at about the time Dave was working with the Shads on Specs Appeal.

Interesting stuff. I think I can remember Victoria Wood doing the "topical song" spot on That's Life, following on in the brave BBC tradition of Cy Grant, Lance Percival, Jake Thackray and even Doc Cox.

But despite the wording of the caption on that picture, this was not VW's first TV appearance. That was definitely on "New Faces" (ATV) some time in 1975 or early 1976. She was an instant hit with the panel, one of whom likened her - as I expected when I heard her - to Jake Thackray (which was a tremendous compliment).

She was doing That's Life in 1976 but her appearance on New Faces was in 1974

Based purely on the Telecaster, I would guess Alan Parker?
