What a musician. As well as his own big hits, he played on others' records in The Wrecking Crew, he was a Beach Boy for a while and, throughout his long life ending with dementia and a major struggle with remembering lyrics, his guitar playing never faltered.
His party piece was The William Tell overture , or The Lone Ranger theme. There are dozens of videos of it around. Here's one of them.

I saw him and his excellent Family band some years ago- his daughter sang too and she is a great singer...he played the William Tell overture live- behind his head mostly- reminded me of Joe Brown!! He and the band did the Beach Boys medley too...great show and great memories..
