Clem Cattini 80th Birthday

Postby drakula63 » 27 Sep 2017, 13:01

Brian and Bruce at Clem Cattini's 80th birthday bash recently. Looks like Mo Foster was also there... (Also, the man second from the left looks like Cliff Hall, although I'm not certain that it is.)

I once read somewhere that Clem Cattini was considered as a drummer with The Shadows or Drifters can anyone confirm or deny that.

Dunno about that, but Bruce once said something to the effect that after Brian left in 1990, that he and Hank had briefly toyed with the idea of continuing and getting Clem in at that point. This may have just been a passing thought and I doubt that any approaches were made, as Hank very quickly signed a solo deal.

I do remember hearing or reading somewhere a comment from Clem that he was the drummer that Shadows fans would have wanted to replace Brian (had the situation arose, which it didn't...)

Clem did play drums on the first Marvin, Welch, Farrar LP...also the Hank Marvin Guitar Syndicate LP.

And Clem has played alongside Bruce, Jet and Licorice (at different times) in Barry Gibson's Local Heroes.

It would be easier to list who Clem hasn't played with.

I'm proud to say I've played with Clem many times ... because he's the drummer on the Casting A Shadow backing CD!
