What's this - a six-note harmonica?

While cleaning the case for my refurbished Burns Artist (see the thread in the Burns Guitars board), in the accessories compartment I came across the gadget that I used in the 1960s before electronic tuners came along.

Yes, it's a six-note harmonica (EADGBE). Easier to use than a tuning fork, though neither were much good on a noisy stage.

Was there a four-note version for bass guitar? Oh, I forgot, in the sixties, bass guitars weren't tuned, they just went thud.

I bought an A 440 tuning fork in the mid '60's- still have it and use it when restringing...

On stage, it's usually easier to tune to the other guitar and bass in my band...doesn't matter if we're all out of tune slightly- as long as we're in tune with each other!! It's rock'n'roll not the LSO..

Its what we used call '60's tuning' you are not in concert pitch but in tune with each other!
