Eleanor Rigby by me and the original double string quartet

Postby Uncle Fiesta » 19 Oct 2017, 12:28

A recent Shadows Club meeting coincided with Paul McCartney’s birthday, June 18th, so I thought I’d celebrate that by playing a couple of his songs. This one uses the version without the vocals that appeared on Beatles Anthology 2 in 1996. I then doubled the cello part on a bass guitar, added some harmonies, and I had my backing track.

List of instruments and settings are in the description under the video itself.

I'll post the link to the other one when I've finished the video and uploaded it.

I've just noticed an email from YouTube telling me it had been blocked, received only minutes after it had gone up.

But I've just tried it and it worked!

Anyway the other one's up now, let's see how that fares.

It seems I can view the video, but no-one else can!

However:

I have filed a dispute with YouTube:

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

While the dispute is being heard, I believe the video is viewable, at least it appears again in the list of uploads on my channel.

In the meantime, feel free to enjoy the other one!

Beatles audio is aggressively monitored and will not last on YouTube for long. I once posted something that included the final piano chord from A Day In The Life and it was almost instantly blocked. I took out the chord, reposted and all was fine.

Well there's no point in reposting this one without the music!

Anyway I've just been informed that my dispute was disallowed so have had to remove the video.

Never mind, you could always come round to my house and watch it on my laptop.

Shame!

Luckily I managed to catch the music before it disappeared.
