I was looking for something else, and came across the Swinging Blue Jeans LP from 1964..
It was interesting that they covered not one but two Shadows written numbers on their album...both vocals!
Don't It Make You feel Good, and That's The Way It Goes....

This has been known for a long time. The SBJs' arrangements are very similar too.
Don't It Make You Feel Good? (with a slightly discordant note creeping in behind the chordal riff):
That's The Way it Goes:
"Furry tails..."! And there's one chord different in the middle eight.

I knew they'd done them but I had not previously listened to the SBJ versions. Now that I have, it reminds me very much of what we all used to do as young players then. Buy the new Dance with the Shadows LP. Listen to the songs, copying down the words and working out the chords. Make a few mistakes (or, introduce personal touches!). Record them in pretty much the same arrangements.
Nice royalties to the Marvin-Welch composer team.

Listening to these inferior versions reminds us just how good the Shadows' vocals always were!
