2000th post!

Postby drakula63 » 09 Feb 2019, 14:52

OK. As it's Brian's 79th birthday and as this is my 2000th post, I wanted something a bit special.

If you'll all forgive me, here are some screen-grabs I have just made from the video recordings taken at Brian's house in October 2012 when myself and Jeff Smart interviewed Brian for a documentary. Extreme work-load on the part of Jeff has dictated that, sadly, the documentary is not yet finished and all I have of it are the unedited rushes, all copied down from Hi-res to low-res. We had a marvellous time and it's something I shall never forget. I still live in hope that it will get seen by everyone one day.

The photos in question show Brian firstly in his office/control room - with his Knight piano, which was given to him by Norrie Paramor. You'll see various awards standing on the piano too and some familiar photos on the wall. You'll also see me standing in the doorway leading into the studio!

Which leads on to the other photos. Brian is seen here with the actual pedal-tympani as used in the Shadows and heard on 'Live at the Paris Olympia' LP. A real piece of history! He is seen talking about recording the theme to Countdown and being bitten by Alan's dog!

All images are taken from Jeff Smart's original footage.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN! And thanks.

Love to see the documentary too!

But how about the long awaited book?
