found this on You tube good quality of Cliff and The Shadows playing Love, completely different from the released record versions they do an instrumental first before Cliff begins to sing .Would it be great to hear these versions on record without the background film noise .

Yes, you can hear the start of Hank's aggressive use of the tremolo arm which was indicative of the time when the Shadows played with real gusto and verve- a characteristic which sadly was quite soon ironed out into an adult pleasing 'safeness'...

I agree with you Martin. A gradual descent into muzak became evident and the goolie-grabbing music of the early years is something I truly miss. It was often raw and under produced, but always beautiful.
