Hi Mike,
As Cliff Richard Jnr & The Sons Of the Shadows were never destined to become a regular features in Thunderbirds I believe that the puppets were destroyed / discarded soon afterwards. Brian Bennett did take a particular liking to his 'clone' and was indeed allowed to keep it. Whether or not he had to pay for the privilege I don't know - but I believe that the other puppets didn't survive much beyond the end of filming. Great to see that clip again after so many years!

Bests....Rob

I've fixed that YouTube clip so you can access it now, from a different source. ;)

The version of The Shadows' "Lady Penelope" in the film is different to the EP version. It misses the overdubbed second lead guitar line and is edited, thus it excludes the second 'verse'. Also, the film version of "Shooting Star" sounds different to my ears, as it has the low voice during the chorus very forward in the mix.

For those of you who are interested, the 1992 issue of the original soundtrack album of "Thunderbirds Are Go!" is on eBay at the moment:

I was able to acquire a fantastic mint copy of this issue myself, last year.

I remember that being released. It isn't an "original" soundtrack album as such, because no soundtrack album with that listing was ever released at the time. The Barry Gray orchestral material may well have been released, but it wasn't coupled with the Cliff Richard / Shadows material, which surfaced only on the 1966 EP "Thunderbirds Are Go!".

Actually, the 1992 LP you referenced (above) was also released on CD in 1992 - and I did buy a copy of that. It isn't available at the moment and seems to go for about the same price as the picture LP:

The 1966 EP seems even more highly-prized:

Best wishes,

Inevitably, Jim beat me to it...

Agreed, it is a nice thing to have, but it's not the soundtrack... just a reissue of the Cliff / Shadows EP.

Actually, George, if it's the disc I'm thinking of, it does contain the soundtrack, including Barry Gray's incidental music from the "Thunderbirds Are Go!" film (one orchestral piece called Alan's Dream, for instance), but as we both know, the Cliff Richard/Shadows and Shadows tracks were never issued on a soundtrack LP at the time of original release.

I suppose you could call it a soundtrack album with bonus tracks...
