Hi Bill

I have seen another of these somewhere on ebay possibly? i think these are one offs. (Burns have a habit of making small runs of different guitars)

The neck is the same as an early marquee. Personally i think it looks great and much prefer it to the normal Cobra.

The neck plate says 'Made in England', but I wonder what that means? Was the body carved (or CNC routed) in England? Was the neck made in England?
In the early days of Burns London Ltd, Dan McPherson was making Marvin bodies for Barry at his workshop in Rayleigh, Essex, but that stopped ten or more years ago.
Perhaps Barry assembled the Cobra in East Molesey from far-Eastern parts?

The Cobra was around, albeit in small quantities, before Burns started having guitars made in Asia.

I remember Gerard of the (Dutch) U B Hank Guitar Club Band playing one. It was fitted with (presumably Cairns-made) Rez-o-Matiks and a Wilkinson vibrato bridge (Trev's own design, not a copy of a Strat unit).

I'm not sure I remember seeing that trem unit before it says "The Point Classic" on it.
They have been making quite a few guitars in the UK in the last few years particularly by Marc Lamaq but I don't think this is one of them.

That Point Classic tremolo looks like the real Deluxe Woosung Chorus made unit to me rather than the cheaper version that ended up on the Marquee. My Marquee was upgraded to this unit and it really is excellent and shows no sign of wear after years of use.

My bandmate Ken (the other half of The Dinosaurs) has a white Cobra prototype which he bought from Barry at Pipeline one year (back when it was held in London at the ISH!) - I will try and get a photo.
