Hi Alan,

Did you inspect the rubber wheel?
Perhaps it was to long sitting against the capstan and de-formed ?

Eric Snowball recommended Maxell UD 35-90B recording tape for the ESE echo machines.
I have some that I used on my ESE Echomatic 1V, if you can't get any let me know.
