Gemini III

Postby David Martin » 23 May 2020, 08:55

I noticed from His latest posting that Robbo has a Gemini III on his pedalboard. I used to have one and regret selling it now. I've tried every way I can go get in touch with the man who designed and made it. He is a member here, but has not been seen for years. I know he suffered the tragic loss of his wife and this hit him hard. His i.d. was David JM.

I have found someone who would be prepared to make these again, and arrive at a financial arrangement, but with no contact info, nothing can be achieved.

So... anyone know where he can be found? And/or, does anyone have one for sale?

Yes indeed the Gemini III is a very useful piece of kit for getting the tone close to some of those early Hank sounds. I bought mine from a gentleman on this site a few years ago and recently decided to build a pedal board and include it in the line up, I should have done this years ago. I haven't had a look inside but my guess is that it is a three stage filter that is switchable. The other options were the Ariab from Roberto and the Cutting Edge from Charlie Hall, but of the three I found, the Gemini III is the most rewarding. :)

There was also the "PB Box" designed by Patrice Bastien, but it was far more expensive, and he has long stopped making them.

I have a Gemini 111. I’m very pleased with it. Currently I’m using it with a Tech 21 Liverpool (and HCSE). I have the Boss. Katana head amp with all the variations of the Tone Studio - however I’m very pleased with the sound I’m getting now.
It would be great if the Gemini could be produced once more.

I had one and sold it on.
It was good, but only powered by battery.

I have this in my board.
Made in USA

Though suggested by a non UK member, take a look anyway.
