Anyone have or has tried these in a Strat as yet? Interested in comparison with Kinman or any other 'Strat' pickups. ;)

Not Holy Grails Bill , but I am a great fan of Lace Sensor Gold Pickups for Shads stuff, Very 'vintage' sounding with sustain unlike anything else I have used ( which I must say is about all of them!)

Thanks Guys!

I've got a set of Lace 'Gold' Sensors, a 'Red. Silver. Blue' set and also a set of Lace 'California' all either in or available for Strats, but I had a chance to pick up a set of 'Holy Grails' today (which I did) so I thought I would ask about them amongst the 'learned members' in this group! I might try them (HG's) in place of the 'Red, Silver, Blue' set in one of my CIJ Strats, I find that set a bit 'over the top' for most of the stuff I play these days.;)

Do you mean the difference between all the pickups I mentioned or just how the Holy Grails sound themselves?

Here's a Strat with Holy Grails doing chords...

Hi Bill,
Thanks for those samples - interesting sounds.
It would be great to hear maybe the bridge pickup playing something traditionally Shads-like as I always feel the bridge has the most defining of the pickup sounds.

Martyn,

Those two clips are ones I 'took' from YouTube, they are not ones I made! As far as comparing them with other pickups for a "Shads' sound, I haven't really got that far with the installation as yet - they are going into a '62 re-issue Start (CIJ) and I have yet to decide on the rest of the circuit, may use TBX then again may not. I really haven't bothered with any clips to send in at all over the past few years, perhaps I may get around to that when I have the Quadraverb GT and all the rest set up. Then again, I do have a Strat XII under construction, and the '72 Telecaster Custom Deluxe is nearly finished............... :roll:
