A couple of Theatre shows from Past Masters

Postby dave robinson » 15 Jan 2010, 15:31

If anybody fancies a night (or two) out, you may be interested in these two gigs we have lined up at The Acorn Theatre, Worksop on the 5th of February and 18th of April respectively.

The February gig will feature a small tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper as it falls in the week of the 51st anniversary of that fateful night. The show is our revamped 'Let's Rock The Jukebox' which features two long sets of classic rock and roll & sixties music, including instro hits from The Shadows, Duane Eddie, The Ventures, Lord Rockingham etc, as well as classic American and British vocal hits.

The second of the two shows in April will be a performance of classic Cliff Richard and The Shadows and we will be joined by Damion to take the 'Cliff' roll. Tickets for each show are the same price - £10.00 and are available from The Acorn Theatre here . . .

Hope to see one or two of you there. :D

I'll pass on the Chinese as I prefer Indian food (I'm sure you said it was an Indian restaurant), but on the bright side I'm informed today that the tickets are 75% sold, so we're looking at the prospect of a great evening with a good atmosphere. :)

We had a get together in the studio tonight to have a run through a few tunes that we want to play on Friday, the intention being that I would choose some tunes and write out a couple of set lists. I have been sat here for two hours since the lads went home and I haven't written down one song - I can't decide what to leave out as there are so many good numbers, we may end up asking the crowd what they want to hear . . . . . I know some of you have booked so we thank you very much for your support and look forward to seeing you in the bar where we may end up choosing the set list - mines bacardi & coke . . . ;)
