Pickguard

Postby John Boyd » 24 Nov 2020, 19:32

Good morning all,
I have just put together a Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster body (Fiesta Red of course) and a rosewood 'Simon Neil' neck, but would like to give
the combination a more 60's look with a 3-ply pickguard. Does anyone know who would supply an 8 hole 3 ply pickguard?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
JohnB

There are hundreds of them on ebay John, I don't know if there'll be any in New Zealand. I bought one from Strings Direct but they're a UK outfit. The Classic Vibe is only drilled for the 8 hole guard so a modern one might involve you making three more holes if you don't mind doing that. I did it, but I'm not precious about my gear.

Cheers,

Len

Hi John. I usually use StewMac in America for most guitar parts. They seem to stock everything.

Just type those specs into the eBay item bar and they appear for sale all over the world.

Gentlemen, thank you.
I'll start with the dreaded eBay and see how I get on.

I just bought a 3-ply mint green scratchplate for a Strat and it came from Vanson at £9.90 with free postage. You'll find Vanson on eBay and they do all sorts of scratchplates so you're bound to find what you're looking for.

Gentlemen,
I took the plunge and ordered a 3ply 8 hole pickguard out of China. It cost NZD20 including postage and arrived today, just 10 days after purchase and is a perfect fit.
I'm a very happy chap.
