Jerry Allison RIP

Postby dave robinson » 22 Aug 2022, 21:14

Sadly the drummer that started a few thousand others playing drums, Jerry Allison of The Crickets has passed away today.
His legacy with the music he made with Buddy Holly & Joe B is phenomenal. It inspired generations to this day. RIP Jerry.

Oh no... that is such sad news...

The last of the original Crickets trio / quartet, after Buddy, Joe B and Nikki Sullivan.

I've been a fan ever since borrowing the "Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets" LP when I was 12 and being inspired by that to buy "The Buddy Holly Story" album and others.

R.I.P. JI!

Bernie Keith featured a fulsome tribute to 'JI' this evening on his BBC Radio Northampton / Three Counties show, Rock 'n' Roll Heaven, available on Sounds.
