So sad to just read that Charlie Gracie passed away just before Christmas
from covid related illness. Was a great fan of Charlie's and well remember
searching record shops for his recording of Guitar Boogie and seeing him play it
in his eighties at Blackpool Grand Theatre.
RIP Charlie, you were a great rock n roll original, a true legend.

...I was only just thinking about the time I saw Charlie live at the Roadhouse in Stirchley in the mid-2000s (before the smoking ban in public places, however...). He was great! Memories of Stuart Colman playing Fabulous on the Radio 1 show It's Rock 'n' Roll...and then finding a chipped (but it still played ok) 78 of it in a junk shop in Colindale. On the Parlophone label; happy days!
