One more recent topic discussed, though, was the mysterious disappearance of the celebrated plaque commemorating the birthplace of British rock 'n' roll outside the former 2i's coffee v bar in Old Compton Street. We are informed it was apparently removed, for whatever reason, by the proprietors of the fish and chip shop which now occupies the site, suggesting there is no question of a possible replacement.
