Ecca/Hankies, i'll pop down to see you all one night for one of them cobs, won't be just yet as i'm working 24/7 on an empty property i have, under new Goverment rules they take em off you after being empty for a length of time.... i think the dead line is June'ish
Bluenote, yes a thumbpick is great for nearly any style of playing even Shadows songs  i amazed so many people leave them spare fingers hanging when you could put em to good use. I sometimes use the Herco flatpick/fingerpicks you mention, the only down side for me is they don't seem to grip your thumb enough and twist around, i think some people cut a spare one up and glue the wrap around part over the top of another one.
Theres an American company who makes a great line of thumbpicks.....i can't seem to find their home page, but they are called "Fred Kelly Picks" you can order(or you could) from them a sample bag of picks and in each bag was one or two of each type of pick they make, i use the speed picks(white is harder, orange less hard) and these picks have kind of an hinge idea, which gives more flexability and control...but you really need to find the Fred Kelly home page and order from there for best value.

Heres a company in the U.K. that sells them.....

I got that pick this morning and it is really great to use. The only fault I can find is that it could be a bit longer. It just catches the strings with me. I have rather large thumbs so it is just catching the strings. I got the medium one. I should really have got the light guage I think. The medium creates far more volume than my own nails do. I guess I'll adapt in time to strenthen my fingers and bring them up to the same level.
Its amazing how much more versatility it gives to your playing 8-)
Hugh.

I'd love to use a thumb pick but none of them are a tight enough grip on the thumb for me.
I want to use the thumb as an independent entity like Jeff Beck's 6 foot long thumb.
So I use nothing.

Did you purchase one of the cameras?

By the time I thought about SD cards and spare batteries, it didn't seem like quite the bargain it once did...

After posting the first video file demonstrating the Medion CamCorder and also showing the Mini Humbucker i had installed in the neck of my tele, i received many mails(3 or 4 off this site) asking about pickup balance and what the sound was like when the bridge and and neck pickups were mixed.
Here's a quick recording demonstrating each pickup and a mix of both pickups.

Thanks for the comments and interest.
Regards
Rob :)
