Hi Martyn, Thanks for the good words, but I want just to say that there is no shame in the version you put out. Some have more in them than others and sometimes this could be the undoing of a great song! You know the saying, 'less is more', maybe I was lucky this time, but it doesn't always work that way.
To answer your questions, there were some double-stops played, mainly in the improvised part in the second part of the second verse and a couple of others with hammer-ons here and there. But the chorous and the ends of some of the verses are full of three part harmonies on separate tracks.
I used a slide in the third verse, just before the second chorus. When I play this in a band with vocals, I use a slide too, but when I play it live with BTs I bend the notes as I could never change smoothly from one to the other, especially out of the chorus into the verse, not the real thing but it's passable.
