Now there's a thought, what about a Black Country Club

Hey, there's a thing a "Black Country Club" Will that have Zulus singing "Blanket on the ground"?

I had the great honour of watching tribal dancers ( topless ) in South Africa some years ago.

They threatened to stop performing if I didn't put my top back on.

The Hankies guitar club has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and some nights you are only going to get to play two numbers and we have had all sorts come and join in including Jazz players , singers and even a classical style person attended so it's quite diverse and when the word got round about food they started coming in droves ... :D  So it's fairly open to all styles and that makes it popular as well as the usual Shadows style. We even had some bloke from Bloxwich playing a Gibson L5 ... Malcolm I think he was called :D :)

I think this new Birmingham club shall be called 'The Lardies Guitar Club'

A Black Country Club with Black Pudding & pease pudding, could even get the Black Country TeeT shirt shop to do the t-shirts
and yes I have spelt TeeT correctly. or we could all wear stripey oss tee shirts (that's a zebra by the way) And think of the black country ales.

I won't be coming to any meetings, living in California as I do, but I was born in the Black Country (Stafford) and lived in Birmingham (Erdington) so I stand proudly with the fine people from the region.

Is Tom Coyne still on Midlands Today? I guess not.

Ta Ta a bit.

Stafford - Black Country ??? They would lynch you in Stafford if you suggested that. They consider themselves far too up-market to be associated with the Black Country. In any case, they all speak with a Pottery accent up there, so we can't understand them.

Tom Coyne went back to the North East in 1980 (you have been away a long time!).

You will be welcome any time at the Hankies - bring your own cheese cobs.
(ex-guitar player) - now a ukulele and ukulele bass player!
Update: After 10 years absence, now a born-again Hankie

I was going to comment on Stafford but I would have been kicked off the site again.
