Tony,

That is one of the best sound files I've heard for a very very very long time. I am gobsmacked that you not only composed this piece Tony, but made the BT and played such a superb lead melody so brilliantly. This sounds very much like Hank or Gary Taylor playing as you have hit every note perfect and with great timing and feeling. Fantastic.

I presume you used a midifile to generate the BT and I would be ever so grateful if you could let me have a copy of it to tonykiek@hotmail.com (for my own use and not for commercial use of course). If George & I could play this one at SHADOZ in Melbourne (Australia) in June it would absolutely blow the punters out of their seats.

All the best,
Tony Kiek

Hey Tony,

Thanks a lot for this - I really appreciate your very kind words...

The whole thing was recorded at home in fact - got a little ProTools studio, nothing special really. The Drums, Bass and Strings are all samples but played freehand to give it 'life' (I sound like Dr Frankenstein!) and there are three guitar tracks on there - 2 Accoustic tracks panned hard L&R and the lead part just off to the left.

Let me know how the gig goes and the reaction to the track - its a real honour that you feel it good enough to play live...

Best,

Tony.

I have to agree with Tony (Kiek) - probably the best sound file I've heard in a very long time. You were, obviously, very close to your brother.

Kind regards

Terry

Hi Tony,

That is a beautiful piece and surely a fitting tribute to your brother. It was well written, played and put together. Thanks for posting it.

Len

Hi Tony,

As has been said above, every now and then a composition comes along which captures the imagination and makes you want to learn it. This is one such piece and after receiving your BT I couldn't put the guitar down!

At the first meeting of the Sussex Club, yesterday, I opened and closed the meeting with 'For A Brother' receiving unanimous praise for the number (I hope my playing did it justice)

Kindest regards,
Terry

Terry,

Thanks so much for this - I am very honoured and proud that this song was played live and that an audience appreciated it... I am sure you did it great justice...

The response has been wonderful - so much so that I am thinking myself of getting a band together and rolling this and my other tunes out live. Another one coming along later this week...

Regards to all,

Tony.
