Shine

Here's my first attempt at digital recording using my laptop. If you wish to leave comments, please allow for the fact that, musically, I am very technically challenged :(

This is a Take That tune that I have been trying to impress the Hankies with for about two years now and I thought it was about time I recorded it. The BT was purchased online some time ago and I have no idea who the recording artists were.

I have used my trusty Jap Strat directly into Cubase AI5. I have to say that I have had some difficulty with 'latency' problems which the good people at PMT have helped me with (Andy take a bow) . The problem hasn't gone away completely but I can now record with just a slight bounce back of the signal which I can cope with.

The effects were all Cubase VSTs, except for the delay which is the excellent eTAP2 module from the Echotapper site:

Hi Phil...

I enjoyed hearing you play this back in February, and it's even better here. A well chosen track, and you play it excellently, with all the bounce and freshness that the tune deserves.

Nice one...

Thanks Justin. I've still got a CD of yours that you left here. Let me know when you are next coming this way.

If you'd bring pork pies like those I'd clap much harder when you play.

Thanks Lynn

I always favour tunes with a driving beat and a great melody. This is one of them.
