At 85 Dick Richards must be the oldest performing rock drummer anywhere in the world.Dick joined Bill Haley`s Comets in 1953 and in 1955 along with fellow Comets Marshall Lytle and Joey D`Ambrosio left after a dispute over wages to form the Jodminars ,they broke up after a few years going there sepperate ways.In 1987 they reformed the Original Comets along with Johnny Grande and Franny Beecher. They performed for the next twenty years until Johnny Grande died in 2006 then Franny Beecher retired in 2007.The remaining Comets continued with replacement musicians.Dick also doubles as an actor under the name of Dick Boccelli appearing in films like The Exterminator and My Blue Heaven. Still beating the skins at 85 can`t be bad
