Wanna buy a cheap guitar Guv?

Postby geoff1711 » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:14 pm

Did anybody see the Crime watch appeal tonight re the Italian guitar collection stolen in 2006? they reckon a few have turned up for sale in the Leeds area recently.

There's a list of some they are looking for at the following link

http://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/Docu ... appeal.pdf

Not a Fiesta Red Strat amongst the lot though!

I bought a Parker P38 from a guy on Ebay up there last month, and our area rep for Leeds collected it for me, just had him on the phone in a panic - had he been handling stolen goods? his wife was worried!!! (actually from the background noises I'd say she was on a high thinking she'd solved the crime of the century!)

Glad to say Parkers of any description don't figure on the wanted list.

I wonder if the Italian chap with the large villa is the collector whose gear has been stolen? Some time ago on a thread here, there was a photo of his huge collection set up on stands on the stairway out front of the villa.

Also, a thought crossed my mind when the report mentioned Leeds, which is or was the location of a well known vintage dealer recently in legal strife!

It would seem the thieves took around 130+ guitars approx 100 have been recovered, those shown are what are still missing.

If you look on the crime watch website you can find more details.

You've put two and two together there and made.....Four!

Congratulations!

(I doubt anyone got them cheap, though)

Isn't there a court case pending regarding these instruments?

"They had their unconditional bail extended and the case was adjourned until February 10 2011."

No news since then ?
