The Shadows and our cat Echo

Postby Rosemary » 18 May 2011, 12:50

We have two cats and one of them is called Echo. I was amazed that when she was sitting with me watching the Shadows play Foot Tapper on DVD she kicked her leg out at the end and I've never seen her make that exact movement before. She's pretty clever and I wouldn't be at all surprised if she'd learnt that dance step from watching.
Just a thought.
Best wishes

You can say that again-again-again-again-gain-gain-gain-gain-ain-ain-ain-ain-ain-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-

Sorry, Rosemary, you should NEVER have told us the cat's name!

I agree, Jim:)

But she has a very fitting name for the cat of a Shadows fan although she was named before I started playing and although I always loved the Shadows I didn't associate the word echo with their music then. I just loved their sound and their music but had no idea of the effects used.

By the way either tomorrow or Sunday we'll be back at the Guitar Show where a year ago I bought my first Strat! I only plan on looking around this time but at least I know a lot much more than this time last year so might be able to have some meaningful conversations with the people there. :)

Hi Noel
I was very good and didn't buy anything :) although if money had been no object I would have liked to have bought the 1979 cream colour (blonde?) Strat with black pickguard and volume controls and maple fretboard. Unfortunately it was twice the price of the new one I bought last year. There were a couple of older Strats too but in all honesty although they're great for collectors I thought they looked a bit too beaten up for my liking. Anyway they were way out of my price range too. There were very few Strats there but it was interesting all the same.
Best wishes
