Looking at Bill's picture of the Vox echo takes me back the the thrill of my first ( secondhand) Watkins Copicat.
To hear proper echoes just ( nearly) like Hank's.

Hi again Geoff,
Just to re-iterate on my ESE echomatic; there is no rubber at all on the top deck. I do know that Eric over the years continued to improve on the performance of the machine and did change certain aspects of it so obviously the early ones may different to to the one I have.

Hi Tony
Sorry ive not answered you earlier but my partner has just given birth to my second daughter.
What iv talking about is the wheel that drives the tape and runs from the spindle out of the motor, if you would like i can take a quick pic?

Hi Scott,
First massive congratulations thats great news for you, hope they are all doing well.
Actually it would be quite helpful because I see no rubber at all, the spindle protrudes up from below deck and looks as though its made of brass, quite substantial. Just below deck it's still metal...no rubber.
Thanks Tony
