Hi Robby ,I've just checked out your Apache medley and noticed you using a ESE Echomatic 4, do you prefer the long tom to it.I Had a ESE 6R SE and could not get 'the sound' Keith

Hi Keith,

I was using ESE Echomatic VI for Apache medley. It's a good machine but it's just different from the long tom. ESE has a very clean echo sound, The long tom is dirtier and the echo has some sort of compression (I don't know what do you call it  ), just like Meazzis to my ears.
For me, using Tonelab in combination with EQ and a little compression (after the echo) would produce the sound just like on the video.

I hope this helps Keith. Mind you I'm still learning both tweaking the sound and playing the guitar, so that's the best of my knowledge so far. :)

Hi Roger,

Thanks so much for watching and your compliments. Much appreciated

Another terrific soundfile/video Robby - really well played.

I'm not at all surprised when you said that the Long Tom sound like a Meazzi because after having worked on several Vox echo units I know that the circuit is almost identical to early Meazzi tape units.

Hi Roger,

Thanks so much for watching and your compliments about the video.

Nice to know that Vox Echo has identical circuit as the early Meazzis . Paul Rossiter has also told me the same. Thanks again.
