Hi Everyone

As this tune hasn't been posted that often, we thought the members would like to hear our version. I have just put it on the TVS site and its the last tune.... #80.
So scroll down and click on the jukebox button.

Hope you like it!

PS: Video 4 is a few weeks away as Gary, Paul and myself have been busy.

Cheers

Hi Spike,

thanks for posting.

This number is so difficult to re-create - the original has a quality all of its own with a certain furriness (best description I could find) surrounding the notes.

Gary's version is very close but still a little 'clean' in my opinion - not as close as the other postings - still far better than anything I've come up with though!

Kind regards,

Terry

Hi Spike,

As I see this beautiful version by Gary with his delicate playing style, I thought about the recording I did of the tune a few years ago. It was the only tune I recorded with my Burns Marquee. I don't think I ever posted it on this site.
I think our versions are very similar except that Gary's recording is much cleaner and professional.
I will post mine now.
I am alone at home and I wanted to play today and record something, but my right arm is hurting as I contracted a
Cervical Radiculopathy (pinched nerve) lifting my son's car battery.
I will only post my version of Blue Star for now.

Hope you and your family (including the nice dog) are doing Ok.

Blessings,
Abel

Hi Guys

Thanks for your nice comments :-X

Terry:
I have attached an AB comparison between us and The Shadows.
We have attempted to match the original vinyl and not the CD version that you may have as we have found that many CD versions are dull and lifeless compared to the vinyl originals.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers

I forgot to mention that in the comparison we used the same lead sound as the post but with the Shadows backing.
On the first posting we used Gary's backing track but the two lead sounds are the same and they are pretty much spot on with Hanks lead sound ...if we are talking vinyl ;)

Thanks Spike.

It's that first sequence on the low register A chord where there is a difference - all the other parts, no audible difference. Very close though, nonetheless.

Not a criticism, just an observation.

Kind regards,
