Hello Bojan

Many thanks for your comments and understanding of the problem.

I returned the original guitar to the shop and pointed out the fact that the
trem would not work properly and fair enough they swopped it for a different
one but that proved to be the same.

I did ask on Shadowmusic if anyone had the same thing happen to them but the replies
were less than helpful.

I will wait for the new model to be issued in 2010,and possibly consider this model.

The trem system on the Marvins/Custom and Apache is brilliant once you take the time to set it up. One tip is to smear the fibre washers lightly with vaseline, lasts for ages and gives a smooth action. When the washers do wear barry will usually supply replacements free of charge. (Or he has done in my case) I have always received excellent customer relations from Barry and the Burns team. :D

Well the urge to own a Burns has got the better of me so I have emailed Barry and explained the problems
I had with my original purchase, and asked if others had had the same thing happen.

I think the Apache is the nicest looking guitar, and I wonder what the differences between
the current and new 2010 model will be,I have asked Burns the question and await their reply.

Alan, as far as I know, the two main differences will be slightly bigger fret markings (in response to users comments) and noiseless pickups.

I am waiting to hear more about the Apache Double Six.

I was under the impression that when an email didn't reach it's destination,
it was bounced back to the sender,it always has been in the past.

Let's just say that I have not had any emails returned.

Hi Alan

I had a similar problem with my Burns trem. My solution was to fit a slightly longer cap head screw, a half nut to lock this to the collar on the trem plate and 2 half nuts to lock the arm to the screw. There is still a little bit of wobble but hardly anything and I could probably improve on this by replacing the fibre washers with nylon or maybe thin metal ones. The arm ends a up around 2mm (the thickness of a half nut) higher than originally.

I have a few spare screws and nuts so if anyone needs to try this send me a PM and a set is yours for the cost of postage.

Hi, I am hoping to purchase one of the new apache noiseless guitars. I understand that it will have 22 frets and be available in may. Price to be around £1300.
