eTap2hw setting for Sleepwalk?

Postby Bojan » 07 May 2013, 12:26

In configuring my eTap2hw echo patterns. I have relied on the J-echo patches that Jacob developed for Piet's eTap2 VST plugin, and I have discovered that they work really well (with a few exceptions, such as Flingel Bunt, Blue Sea . . . ). I recorded a muted note and applied the appropriate eTap2 VST settings and then simply matched them with the live echoes through the eTap2hw. In this way I have succeeded in matching virtually all the Shadows echo patterns.

However, I have not been able to find an exact match on the eTap2hw for Sleepwalk (the same echo pattern is used for Midnight and the Deerhunter)

The sample of the echo pattern for Sleepwalk according to Jacob is attached in this TEST mp3. Can you find this pattern on the eTap2hw?

There are some alternate echo patterns for Sleepwalk, but not this exact one, and that is strange because the eTap2 VST claims that this is an Echomatic 2 setting(!?)

Hi Bojan , Have you tried Robbo's settings ,prog 5 Me ech 11 classic, Vol 11-Mix 4-Mode/heads 6-Feedback 5 ? Midnight (Robbo) is different, Prog 0 J classic, Vol 11-mix 7-mode/heads 9-feedback 6.

Hi Keith, what I am asking in this thread is not a setting for Sleepwalk or Midnight, but how to get this particular echo patterm (TEST) on the eTap2hw . . .

Robbo's settings are good, but they are not the same as the one I am looking for. You can compare them here.

Cheers,
Bojan

Hi Bojan, the closest to your sample Test I find is ECM I Model F Special, with Mode/Head: F. Not sure if it´s the same speed though...

Kurt, the closest I got is the Vox Long Tom (prog 4) with mode B. There is just a slight difference in speed.

The 'Midnight' patch is nowhere near the patch for 'Sleepwalk'. My guess is that it's in bank 3 somewhere.

Perhaps Midnight is closer to The Frightened City?
