Re the up or down issue, I think it is both.

I believe this was played with pick and (3rd) finger - that is the only way you can get the emphasis on the right note (the emphasis changes according to the phrase)

When playing this way it would appear as being played on the down stroke although the third finger is picking on the up stroke.

In any event, this is the only way I can get it to sound authentic.

Kind regards

Hi Roger - You're not the only one who gets trouble with the timing - I found it OK playing along with the DVD but playing to the BT it's easy to get out of step as I did on some earlier takes.
Many thanks for the nice comment.

Hi Terry - I agree completely about the method - There were a couple of places where my harmony note was more prominent than the main note - The beauty of live takes.
I was also told by someone on YT that there are 2 phrases where Hank uses triple stops - I missed that

All the best Phil

Hi Phil,

I should have said "pick and 2nd finger" not 3rd.

Let's not make life more difficult !!

I enjoy your videos - keep 'em coming.

Good job here Phil and a difficult tune to master with the timing as said already. I was always of the impression it was played on the double stops throughout with pick and second (middle) finger. Sounds good in the mix as well.

Thank Walt & Roger for your nice comments.

Rog yes you're right about the pick and middle finger after checking the DVD - I should have done that all the way through.
I guess you do what's comfortable for you at the time.

All the best... Phil
