Wonderful Land with Vox Long Tom and Boss GE-10

Postby KurtFroberg » 19 Dec 2014, 12:07

A couple of weeks ago I was at a private gathering with some friends and Shadows guitarists in Stockholm. Among the guitarists were Björn Andersson, lead guitarist from The Moonriders. He had his Vox Long Tom echo which he had (10-15 years ago) modified with separate switches for each head, so every combination of heads was possible. Together with his Boss GE-10 equalizer and a Vox AC15 (with a 10 inch speaker I think) he got a very good vintage sound and the echo pattern was very near the original. We were all very impressed of Björn´s sound. You may recognize Ronnie Gustafsson among the people listening.

Sounds great and authentic and shows EQ pedals get you much closer to the sound.

Sounds superb!!
I'm always reminded that when we heard it originally it had been mastered for around 100 - 10,000h for playing on yer average Dansette player and the EQ has captured just that "feel" to it.
