HELLO MARY LOU

Postby Stratpicker » 10 Mar 2015, 21:48

Hi All
Now and again its good to try a different style.
Hello Mary Lou was a Big Hit for Ricky Nelson in 1961. I think it makes a great Instro, helped no end by that wonderful middle 8 by James Burton, which I have attempted to emulate.
Written By Gene Pitney, did you know?.
BT is mine and is 100% Band In A Box, even the cowbell! Lol!!
I hope you enjoy.
Cheers
ian

Hi Ian - That was really good ! and with a super solo.
You BIAB backing sound very professional - never need to buy another BT again.

All the best... Phil

Hi guys and thanks for the kind comments.
PGS - I would love a Tele. I have to make do with neck+bridge on my STrat.
Ecca - what can I say? Thanks.
Phil - As you might expect, the Solo took longer to learn and perfect than the rest of it put together. lol. The BT worked out quite well but I'm only doing it until your Andrew puts out another one.
cheers

A great Rick Nelson track and I like your version of it Ian.

The solos that James Burton came up with are terrific (they must have been to attract the attention of Hank & Bruce !!) and you've captured the feel of this one.

Hi Roger - many thanks for your positive comments. IN hindsight, I think I did this to see IF I could get the JB solo - I think I did OK.
cheers
