Burns Marquee Advice Please

I am thinking of buying one of these. Can anyone help with advice on pros/cons. The reviews I have read are mainly positive, but hoping the wealth of knowledge and experience here can help. Any advice greatfully received.

I did have a white Marquee when they were introduced in 1999 and it was a good guitar, I only sold it when the Marvin arrived. I have a Marquee bass and double six and they are good value and great to play.

I have one and find it a very good guitar the extra pick up selection along with the zero fret allow
you to create some great sounds and its value for money.When I ordered mine a few years ago there
was a 6 month delivery wait but it was worth it.Reading all the genuine reviews about it says a lot
about the Burns Marquee that people who have bought one feel. I think it won a award some years
ago as well but for all of this its up to you in the end it's your money.

Seriously, they are nice guitars both for playability and the range of tones. As for looks, the Greenburst is stunning!

Indeed , a very well designed and put together guitar on the £300 price range.
Plenty of tone variation with the 7 p/u positions.
Some people might find it slightly heavy bodywise , and the neck a bit chunky,
but you soon get used to very playable board, with good hardwearing frets.
I was extremely lucky to pick up a 2000 model in 2002 for £180, almost mint condition,
apart from the white finish slightly gone yellow at the time.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys. I had a Sonic back in the sixties and was happy with thatas very happy with that. All I have to do now is convince the boss I need yet another guitar

(I'm having to whisper this because it's probably regarded as sacrilege on a Shadows forum but I'm not keen on Hank's favoured 'scroll' headstock design. If perchance you feel the same way, there is a solution - seek out a Burns Batwing - it's a Marquee with a batwing headstock which, because it is larger than the scroll, is supposed to add to the sustain)

Interesting point, Ray. You remind me that the Marquee bass comes with a batwing headstock. The scroll isn't an option.

Hi, I have had two of these and regret selling them, I might buy another. They are very good playable guitars without having to spend much money. The scroll headstock adds a touch of class. Also the trem works fine on the Marquee unlike the equivalent Fenders which require upgrades. I don't think you can go wrong with a Burns marquee.
