WONDERFUL LAND (with eTap2 vst plugin) VIDEO

Postby Bojan » 26 May 2015, 08:50

I forgot just how much I used to rely on the eTap2 vst plugin before the eTap2hw came along . . . so, this is for "old times sake" . . .

Cheers,
Bojan

Nice sound but the dampened bits don't sound like they ought to. :)

Yes, the echo is there but the initial note is louder than the first repeat by too much. Otherwise it's another fine performance that's hard to tell from the original.

Thanks for commenting guys . . . :)

Iain, if I understand you correctly, the volume of the first three heads should be set higher?

As a bass guitarist, I am not qualified to answer that! I think so :)

And as a rhythm guitarist (if there is such a thing nowadays), I'm not even qualified to ask such questions! :D :D

I have always set the echo this way (with lower volume on the first three heads and much higher volume on the fourth head) in WL. I also use it in Peace Pipe . . . To me it gives a better, if not "rippling" then certainly "tripping" effect which I rather like.

... in which case it is part of the Bojan Sound. Nothing wrong with that!

Hi Bojan
I have not come on here to pick your rendition of "Wonderful Land" apart but to listen to it
and after taking all things into consideration with the way you played and put this together
on your own with your own equipment what a GREAT job of it you have made very comparable
to the original and a pleasure to listen as with all your quality recordings which after listening
to them really does reflect the time and effort you put into them.

Pete

Hello Bojan,
Greetings again from NZ.
Once again you have hit my spot with your Wonderful Land soundfile.
As a mere '3 chord wonder' rhythm guitarist, and occasional lead player,
it certainly makes me envious of your playing ability and production
skills. Well done.
Cheers,
John B

Pete and John, thanks for your very nice comments!! I'm really glad you like the sound file and the video. I recorded the sound file very quickly, practically in one take, but I did spend a lot of time collecting and editing the right video material to do justice to the majestic atmosphere of this lovely and haunting piece!!

John, I'm a rhythm player myself. :D

For Dave and Iain, here is a snippet which shows my echo pattern. Without the BT to drown out the echo on the first three heads, it can be heard quite nicely.
