Hotel accommodation near Waterlooville?

I really ought to visit this site more often!!

If Abel is not yet absolutely fixed up Ian and I can get him to Waterlooville, I have just emailed him and hopefully he has not left home yet.

I have suggested he get the inter airport coach to Heathrow, Ian and I can pick him up from there, go to our place for lunch and then we will bring him down to Waterlooville. We live 30 mins from Heathrow and 50 mins from Waterlooville. I'd love to come to the Shadows Club, and if it's not Ian's cup of tea, he can always pop round to our son's house, he lives in Denmead, the village next door.

Hi Gillian and all,

Good to hear from you, I thought you were on some cruise around the world with Ian as you are both retired and enjoying your life (I am hoping to retire next February God willing).

Christina is arriving at Gatwick at around 8:30 PM on the 26th of August and has already bought her train ticket (valid all day) direct to Southampton (our hotel is the Novotel).
She hopes to see you too before getting on the ship provided it's not inconvenient for you.
We need to board the ship by 4 PM.

I am arriving at Stansted at around 8:15 AM.
I didn't buy my ticket yet but I was planning on getting my NationalExpress coach ticket from Stansted (via Victoria) to Southampton and from there get a ride to Waterlooville Shadows Club and back to the Novotel with gracious Stuart.

It's very nice of you to offer to pick me up and I'd love to see both of you, but not if that involves hardship for you.
I have plenty of time to get to Southampton anyway, so no worries.
I was wondering if I need to get my ticket now or when I get there. I couldn't find an all day ticket like Christina.
So I would be stuck with a specific departure time from Stansted, but I gave myself 2 hours margin (coach leaving at 10 AM from Stansted), so it
should be more than enough if the plane from Florence doesn't get there on time.

We definitely want to meet with you 2 and any other Shadows fans present in the area.

Hi Abel,

I've sent you another email with details, Ian and I will probably aim to see you both on the 27th in Southampton.

Re the coach ticket, it seems all journeys on National Express coaches to or from an airport have a 'flexibility' offer for an additional £5 but you have to make the booking online, so yes, book before travel. I did a test run and once you choose your time/fare, the next page has the add-ons where you can choose the airport flexible bit.

I've had a quick read through these posts and I gather you would like to go to the South Coast Shadows Club on 26 August. It's the club I go to and I travel from Bournemouth to Waterlooville and as I pass Southampton I would like to offer to call in to the Novotel Southampton to collect you and take you to the club and then take you back to the Novotel afterwards. Please let me know if you would like to accept my offer.

at the hotel on the evening of the 26th and we can all meet in Southampton the 27th around 11-12 in the morning if it's Ok with you.

That's very nice of you to offer to offer me the rides.
Stuart has said that he would give a ride too. Maybe you can see with him who has less inconvenience picking me up
as I don't know where you live.

Re the lifts to The South Coast Shadows Club for Abel. I have offered to collect Abel from Southampton and take him to Waterlooville and back but if you're happy to do it that's fine but if it's an inconvenience to you I can call in to Southampton and collect him. Please let me know.

I have agreed with Stuart that I will be collecting you from your hotel on 26 August and taking you to Waterlooville for the SCSC night. I can collect you at 7pm to be there for 7-30 but I can be there earlier if you wish, please let me know. Also can you confirm your hotel address and postcode please.
