Email virus

Postby drakula63 » 30 Aug 2015, 22:44

My yahoo email account seems to have been hijacked. Just opened an email attachment and it has started to send emails to various other email addresses. I think I'd better change my password.

Just letting you all know.

It's got a Whatsapp attachment. Don't open it.

The ironic thing is, the initial email came from the email account of one of the Shadows! I shan't say which one.

Perhaps everyone could remain vigilant?

I know that at least 2 of those that were sent from my email address got through. However, it seems that many of them didn't (due, I think, to some kind of email security process that detected 'suspicious activity' from my email account).

So, two things that I have learned from this.

1) Don't open suspicious unexpected attachments.

2) Don't open suspicious unexpected attachments!

:o

(No matter who they 'appear' to be from!!!)

Fortunately I think this laptop's security settings prevented the virus from doing what it really wanted to do - and that seems to be to cause it to switch off the said internet protection. All I can say is; there are some dodgy people out there!!
