Lol! OK -seen it.
I'll keep out of it - too many cooks etc make a guitarist confused. :D
My set up is Old and simple. Bit like me really. Don't do complicated. :)

This is what I use Al, straight into the 3.5mm line-in channel on the PC.

Using Adobe Audition.
Rip your BT from CD onto computer.
Start a new recording in Audition.
Plug guitar into mixer, set input channel on Audition to line-in, set level at mixer.
Put your BT onto track 1 in stereo. (Right click on track and 'add audio' )
Record your new guitar masterpiece onto track 2 . You can put effects on after you've recorded it.
Shads echoes are available as a VST plug-in, PSP608 if you wish, it's what I use.
Piet does a eTap VST plug-in but it doesn't seem to work with Audition.
Anyway, that's what I do.
These days, I suppose, USB things are around but I've had no experience of them so I stick with what I know.

Can anyone tell me how to do the same thing with a Mac which does not have a sound card input but only USB?

Robbo might be your man Iain, I know he uses a Mac and has for some time now.
