ITS NOW OR NEVER

Postby Stratpicker » 02 Jan 2016, 17:32

Happy New Year everyone!
This was suggested by a friend. So you can blame Brian!
Originally an Italian "standard" by Eduardo di Capua, "O Solo Mio", it was recorded in 1949 by American singer Tony Martin as "There's No Tomorrow" (aw, bless!) presumably because he couldn't speak Italian (lol) and then some Upstart called Elvis Presley got hold of it in 1960 and recorded it with more new lyrics as "It's Now Or Never" and managed to sell a few copies - like 20 MILLION!!
I've had a little bit of a play-around with it (as I do) and imagined how it might sound if Dire Straits had got hold of it. Well - they might've! OK?
Brason Strat - Kinman FVs (split Neck+Middle or Middle+Bridge. Drives you Quackers!) - Q2EFTP (Reverb only - Patch 0-9) - Joyo ACTone - PC (Cakewalk GTPro2).

Free BT here in mp3 format . For some unknown reason Box.net will not let me upload this. Anyone else having the same problem? - Here it is on Soundclick -

Nice one Ian, you always come up with the goods so I don't care if people blame me lol.
You did a great job and it would have been easy to play it "straight". MK watch out IP is on your tail.
Thanks for taking up my suggestion.

Cheers
Brian.

Very nice work Ian. One of my favourite Elvis tunes, I love how he sings this one. Great version :)
